“There is nothing worse than a brilliant image of a fuzzy concept.”
– Ansel Adams
This is where my professional photography career began – in the manufacturing and engineering production facilities scattered across the UK. At the time I ran a successful PR and Comms agency working with IT companies supplying complex business management software to manufacturing companies. I was responsible for helping develop their corporate and product branding and then creating their messaging and marketing communications, often with a view to getting this successfully published. Increasingly this involved being responsible for obtaining photography that complemented the messaging of the written materials – often in less-than-ideal circumstances and environments. As my PR work diversified into Pharma and Healthcare, so my professional photography expanded to include product portfolio shots, personnel shots and corporate events. And while my PR work come to an end due to the Covid pandemic, my professional commercial photography has continued to this day.
