Live Theatre

Live Theatre Photography

“The best images are the ones that retain their strength and impact over the years, regardless of the number of times they are viewed.”
– Anne Geddes

Around 6 years ago I began expanding my professional portfolio to include the world of live performance art, partnering initially with our highly respected local theatre. In addition to a range of adult panto and Christmas productions here and elsewhere, the majority of my photography has been working alongside a number of different youth theatre groups and their passionate and committed leaders. Central to success here is the creative tension between being able to blend into the background allowing the actors their rightful place as centre stage while also being able to connect with everyone involved in the production and becoming part of the team. I can honestly say it has been such a privilege to work alongside such a diverse range of young people as they grow both individually and as a team along their own performing journey and to document the many performing highlights created along the way. It is hugely rewarding to know that my photographs have not only recorded precious moments in times, but have also provided important portfolio reference material for many of these actors as they have pursued their passion in later life.
